Phenzhopehaugh Haiku is a collection of poems and images inspired by a magical and isolated place near West Buccleuch in the Scottish Borders. It’s the site of an ancient drove road and community in the Ettrick Valley, near where Borders poet James Hogg lived, and has its own motte.
The former shepherd’s cottage is now surrounded by forestry plantations, and home to the Rankle Burn, part of the Tweed river catchment, as well as some feisty peacocks.
This is my first collection of poems.
